About Me

At seventeen, I worked as a line cook at Meraki Greek Bistro, earning $11 an hour. I’d started there at fifteen, washing dishes and learning the ropes. Over time, it became my passion. The kitchen felt like home, and I loved every moment—every plate I sent out, every dish I perfected.

But what kept me going wasn’t just the food—it was my mom. She’d worked tirelessly to provide for me and my siblings, but I could see the strain of raising four kids on her own. Her dream was always to open her own restaurant, but life kept getting in the way. I wanted to be the one to make it happen.

I worked long hours, balancing school and the pressure of knowing my family depended on me. My two brothers and little sister looked up to me, and my mom, though she never asked for help, carried so much on her shoulders.

One night, after a long shift, I came home to find my mom in the kitchen, tired but still working. She looked at me with a tired smile and said, “I think you’re going to help me open that restaurant one day.”

That was all I needed to hear. I wasn’t just a cook—I was the miracle my family had been waiting for.
